Having the internet helps finding recipes so much easier. Back then I found recipes from watching cooking shows on TLC or PBS, or from cook books that I found.<br /><br />Even though I did bake bread sometimes, I tended to bake cakes, cup cakes, cookies and pies.<br /><br />So, the answer to your question is, no, I have not heard of salt-rising before. [True, I was a new dog owner, and learned from that mistake very quickly!] But have you had salt-rising bread? It is delicious toasted with about 2 tablespoons of real butter slathered on it, lmao but dry? Absolutely disgusting.
